Lost,
the ravages of a family torn,
orphans of a sort, siblings strained.
Turbulence of a churning wave of regret
tosses hearts and batters brains of mangled thought.
Pulled into the cycle, agitating and stirring, curing
the chasm of immaturity to find all clutching, no,
clinging to the life raft of familial familiarity.
Giving all for the cause of unity, blessed
by the common thread of parents long gone,
but never out of sight. Doing the right
things to honor their integrity, holding your breath
until the last roll of the "wave" subsides.
Stepping up to the gauntlet, the "new" old guard.
Six castaways on the island acceptance.
