TAKING TURNS (A Shadorma)

That was us.
Not that long ago,
That was us.
Now that’s them –
Sitting at the kids’ table;
Loving the closeness.

Now that’s them –
Naively playing.
Not a care.
Smiles, laughter.
Growing up all together.
A lifetime ahead.

  1. It's funny how we forget many thing, but the simple things stay with us for our lifetimes.
    The "kid's table" was pretty universal; a right of passage. The first time you got away from the kid's table was a sign you were growing up. Too bad we don't fit in at the kid's table anymore.
    A very nice simple and powerful memory and observation.
