HAIKU

to honor the call
to love unreservedly
to be a mother

Marie Elena

Happy Mothers' Day to all moms everywhere, but especially to my mom and godmother. I couldn't have asked for more love, nor amazing role models. Mom and Aunt Peg, you are loved and honored every day.

  1. I'm stunned by the beautiful simplicity in both the poem and the picture...it's enough to make a heart ache, to recall all that is love in life. Thanks, Marie Elena.

  2. Simply resurrected my 2010 Mother's Day post ... but it is no less heartfelt.

  5. Thank you, Barbara. I love it, too. My mother is in front, with Aunt Peg behind her. Funny thing is, even though they are identical twins, my mother has always considered Aunt Peg to be the "pretty one."
