No pressure
No deadlines
No drama
No headlines
Two poets
Conjoining
Two shorelines
Adjoining
Augmenting
Sustaining
Uplifting
Unwaning

I like the slant of this poem. I used to know the boundless energy of a collaboration such as that, where each imposed no deadlines on the other, yet each helped the other reach beyond where the deadlines would have made their demands. I also like how your words and images cross different lines: the absence of the limits of deadlines and headlines, against the unifying power of conjoined shorelines. Memorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite liking that myself! Impressive piece PArtner!
ReplyDeleteThanks Walt. Just speaking the truth over here, PArtner!
ReplyDeletemagewing: Thank you so much. I can't think of a better compliment than "memorable." I believe you might be Maggie E from Poetic Asides? If so, impressive writing. If not, sorry for the confusion. In either case, your visit here is welcome and appreciated.
ME
Yes, Maggie E from Poetic Asides, one and the same (although my doctors would debate that). Sorry for the confusion. I commented here because I like the indented version better. And yes, memorable, will be long remembered, and read to more than the friend I have whom this reminds me so much of (coincidentally, across the same body of water).
ReplyDeleteMarie Elena, you have been hanging out with Walt too much--I see from today's PAD post his "funny bone's" rubbed off on you. Hope you're feeling ok.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Karen, it's not fatal... it's just humor after all!
ReplyDeleteActually, I can't think of a better compliment. But don't tell W - A - L - T that. We wouldn't want him to get a big head.
ReplyDeleteME =)
Hi Maria Elena and Walt
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to share a blog like this. I haven't had time for poetry this year - but I really enjoy reading yours.
I like to read and write poetry, though, and you're very inspiring.
Thank you,
and best wishes to you both.
Heiberg
PS! It's funny that you also share a lake.
Hello out there, Andrea! How sweet of you to stop by our blog and say hello. Wishing you were participating at PA again this year. There are many missing voices, which is sad. Peek in now and then and share, as time allows. We love hearing from you.
ReplyDeleteHey Maria Elena,
ReplyDeleteA week ago an English publisher, against all odds, expressed that they wanted to publish my short stories. So I’m so happy.
Yesterday you wrote about faith, hope and love – and one of my short stories is about that and dwells with the quotation you used.
But I cannot show you my story here, I’m sorry, but if you somehow can tell me your email address I will send it to you.
Andrea
